Default Re: Bullit - the Chase (Steve McQueen)

i have probably watched that chase scene 100 times. Really got it down to slomo on my DVD player and on my computer. I am restoring a 68 Charger as a Bullitt tribute car. Black/black/black 68 charger 4 speed.
Movie experts state two Mustangs and two Chargers were used. In looking at the sceens where the cars are used you can spot differences in the two cars and what was used where. The chase scene used both Chargers, one was a 4 speed one was an auto. The sound for the shifting was done at Cotetti race track and dubbed into the scenes. the Ford sound was a GT40. The Charger sound seems like its own and must have been the auto car. You cannot speed shift a Mopar A833 with an Inland shifter the throw is 3 to four feet.
