I heard somewhere that the 68 L78 COPO Camaros has a different engine suffix becuase they used a dfferent carb and possibly intake. Any truth to this?

The only 2 carbs I know of that were factory installed on HP big blocks in `68 were the 4053 (L72/L78) and 4054 (L88). Outside of those applications, I'm not sure how that might affect an engine suffix code. Eric

Eric,
Regarding date code: I am not too fussy - just a date code that would have allowed its use on a 68 L72 equipped car. I would even consider one with the "wrong" date code for now to get me going. Thanks Grant Grant
