This reminds me of when a member on here had an amazing low mileage original 6 cyl Nova. Everyone was telling him not to drop in a 427 and day 2 the car but no one wanted to step up to the plate and buy the car.

I agree this Camaro is a beautiful original car but who wants a Camaro with a 6 cyl??? Maybe Kevin Suydam can buy it for his collection to illustrate the other end of the muscle car horsepower spectrum!!!

What do any of you think this car should be worth??? Perhaps someone should buy the car and give it some real horsepower!! White 427 convertible would be quite cool!!!!

I think he was saying that he stepped up for the orange cooler. Look at the post he was replying to.

My apologies.. didn't realize it went to a good home!!! Hopefully the white Camaro convertible has the same fate and not some 22 inch rims!!!

GUYS,
As you see from our website we build some pretty high end cars. We were on the lookout for a solid convertible doner and found the convertible you guys are talking about.
We wont use the repop bodys due to fit and other concerns. Also, they are not 69 camaros. They are repop Bodys that RESEMBLE 69 camaros. We wont use them. Period!
The twin turbo that was just sold on ebay was actually
the display car for detroit speed (dse). We purchaced it
because it was about as nice of a body as you could find.
All original panels... floors ect.. A great car to start with .
If you were spending $130,000 on a custom camaro or any other kind of car would you want a car that started out as a rusty piece of crap? Of course not!! We could go out and find a nice "ss" (as they all are nowadays) and only find out after we put it on the rotissary that is all mudded up with repop floors ect...
I know its kind of a sin but on the business side its the right car to make another twin turbo out of.
I had like 50 people ask about the parts and I emailed a bunch the first nite and had people telling me i'm crazy on the prices because "you can buy a brand new carpet set for 99 bucks " or " new A/C is only a grand !! "
thats why i decided to ebay the stuff....
I really dont like parting it out but maybe the parts can go in a REAL 396 car that needs it !!! It is a 6 cylinder car but it is a survivor too.
If sombody wants to buy it, call me. 59500.00
Why should i sell it for any less, so i can buy a "real SS" for 45000.00 only to find out is garbage under all that nice paint? I hope you see my side...

Steve

I appreciate what you are saying and your concern about wanting to start your project with a nice original rust free car. However, am I missing something here 59,500.00. Are you saying that you can't find a nice donor car for less. I find that had to believe. I am always looking for donor cars for my business and granted nice ones are hard to find but they're out there. I purchased this running driving 69 4 months ago for 7,500.00. Factory V8, 4sp, 95% rust free, all original GM body panels, fenders, doors, floors, etc. I have another complete 307 69 a little more complete but just as rust free and original and I paid 9,500.00 for it. I'll trade either one to you straight up for the white 6 cyl car, if all you need is an original rust free donor car. On second thought if they're worth that much maybe I'd better hold to them. Sincerely if finding you a nice rust free donor car will save the 6 cyl car let me know I'm sure I can find one for way less than 45K.

But those aren't convertibles. Top goes down, price goes up .

Don't think it was anything special. X11, Std Black, Cortez Silver. Had a 10 bolt spool in it when I bought it. SB heater core.

The firewall looks like this now. Somebody put a hunk of aluminum in front of it.

WW Rick...that ZL1 should liven things up!!!.

As far as the car goes, I couldn't help but notice the original looking blank fenders, std. tail panel and ZL2?.
What fuel line and tach was there?.
And weren't some Copos X11 anyway?.
