Not that England has the classic autobahn ( unrestricted speeds in certain parts) roadways, they do scoot along rather quickly. So it surprises me that until now the top recorded speeding ticket was for 156mph? I would have thot that they would have eclipsed 200mph years ago with some of the road beasts they run over there.

5 months in the cooler for 156mph is a strong incentive not to try breaking the record.
"Before he resigned..." the Brits just have such a way with words. They don't fire you for stealing the bosses car, they just ask for your resignation.
