The ZL1's are know by the vin and most are known cars with ownership history. Not many clone builders have the ability to get a vin tag made. Trying to pass off a fake ZL1 is probably the hardest to do for Chevrolet cars.

Too bad to hear about your crummy deal. This stuff makes me sick. And its not a problem that is going away.
How do they even fake stamp a block? Do they grind off the old stamp and then use just a hammer and some hand punches?

What does it mean to 're-broach'
Doesnt a failry significant amount have to be decked, and wont it appear to be freshly decked and or stamped (even in an ebay photo) ? Just wondering. to my knowledge I have never looked close at a fake block stamping.
