Yes Warren
That information is very interesting. It would be nice to hear from the corvette owners to see what brackets are on the cars and what build date and plant they were built. I was surprized to hear that the 71 Vette had a L78 bracket to say the least. It must also be considered If the car was restored and the bracket was purchased and then put back on the car?? Most of the cars I was able to find were originals. The earliest bracket I found was a Sept/69 dated Elcamino L78.I also never found a L78 bracket on a original ls6 car,so far.I also must admit I never considered looking for Corvette brackets until now. My 70 L78 Camaro built 01C has the 982 bracket. The engine was built 10/30/69.

![]() Peter, I just looked at your pictures again with intense scrutiny. I then went out and looked at both cars brackets. I was wrong when I said my brackets are just like the L78 style, they are slightly different than both of your pictured examples. Both my brackets are exactly the same, neither have the part # stamped in them. As a matter of fact they have some horizontal lines as the only type of mark on them. I will try to take some pictures and see if I can get them onto the computer and maybe they can be sent to an email. I don't know, but I'll try tomorrow.
