The Duesenberg was commisioned by a German artist Rudolph Bauer, a non-objestive modernist (don't ask) employed directly by Guggenheim. It was built on one of the last remaining Duesenberg chassis' after the company went out of business. He actually had it extended to make it one of the longest Duesenbergs built. Much more but will keep it short. It sold for 2.5 mill. The L88 was a no sale at 1.55 mill. The '71 hemi cuda convert sold at 2.2 mill.
