My take on the auction is that the market is becoming more selective and educated and will not open a blank checkbook for a car with issues. .... I know of several recent sales of great 435s and three 69Lss that sold for huge$$$ so I believe that great cars are still selling for big money and will always bring big money. Also I think if the folks at BJ keep raising their commission rates and offer no reserve only auctions that the quality of their consignments will continue to plummett. IMHO

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree...very wise and focuse buyers at this auction...Chevy prices were not down...quality was...and buyers were not paying up....the good cars are at home in peoples garages still...some of those Fords had to come up....Boss 9 is a badass car...as well as some off the other Mustangs....

Enjoyed watching. Obviously it works, very popular and Speed devotes alot of air time to it. Just a money making machine at this point and it just keeps steamrolling ahead. Like Bob said this is just a sampling of cars and if the quality is down so will be the prices. Didn't see a whole lot of cars I had to have.

Bruce, I want to thank you for all the pictures. It takes an enormous amount of time and the site is better because of you. Thank You Bruce.

The question of the quality of the cars that were going across the block is a valid one. People will always pay a premium for quality that is REAL. Maybe we are seeing an educated buyer......

It's funny but when you factor in the buyers and sellers commission that BJ gets along with any other add ons that may occur and add them all together, are the total prices paid that far off from what we see as the current market value on some of these rides?

Well All I can say Is Crag Jackson end up the BIG loser last night and if not for the guy that paid 5 million dollars for a cobra that had issues the night would have been a bust
I will also not disuse what problem that
were with the 5 million dollar car. I know It is here say
After last Night tv showing I was talking to some one that was there and all I can say is the sh** hit the fan I will not replete what was told to me because there are people on this site will say it is here say and is it a fact but There must have been others there that saw the same thing a lot of behind the seen arguments All I can say there was a lot of problems and I would bet next year the reserve car bidding will be back. That is if Crag Jackson still wants to make a profit
And last every one I talked to wanted to know who the old guy with the kids all over him was It looked like he did not know what the heck he was doing or cared on what he was bidding on
As fair as I am concern the whole thing was one big mess and smelled
A lot of people lost big money

Maybe the "subliminal advertising "
with all the Ford banners
..."in the roof" ...had an affect on the bidder's
...
...
..What was the quality of the cars over at Russo Steele Auction....I think that had something to do with some of those prices....
...great cars with documentation and the right color will always be in demand
...I think they could vary their commercials thru the event
...that was torture

Looks to me like the Ford conspiracy went down the tubes when Ford's USA pres. threw in '07 Shelby VIN #2 at MSRP and the bid did not go up one penny! Or maybe the $600k was a "staged" price.

It would be interesting to know what "really" goes on behind the scenes a BJ. Craig comes across as a first class shyster and his side-kick and those sunglasses??? WTF Mr. Hollywood, has it dawned on you that you are the only person in the whole FN place wearing sunglasses INDOORS??!!!

These guys are making the whole game look a little shady.

one thing that sticks in my head, that my dad always said...

never, absolutely NEVER, do business with anyone that won't take their sunglasses off, so you can't see the truth in their eyes....

to this day, I live by that creed.

My wife noticed the sunglasses guy too, said he looked like a shady hick. Unless he's had some sort of disfiguring injury, he really ought to drop that routine.

PS, thanks for the correction on the 4dr hemi ride, I would have figured it for a police pkg, if not for the color.
