I had an order of XT's a long time ago go FedEx, 5 seperate boxes, received 4 and they said they delivered the 5th to a wrong address and thg receipnet didn't want to give it back, can you beleive that BS.? Seller ended up reimbursuing me, but I lost the 5th of a matched set. You truly roll the dice with some of these shipping companies, Greyhound ain't half bad had some big stuff go through them, made it fine every time

"My son has a friend that works for Fed X at night and at the end of the night what does not get sorted and pack in containers they just push the rest in to dumpsters
His supervisor told him it was more cost effective to just put in a claim then use more hours to finish the sort" I have worked at FedEx as a temp on and off for a few years now, and find this VERY hard to believe. I have NEVER seen anything like this before, and given the way the sort is ran, it would not fly. They hold everyone accountable for everything, and "Tossing" packages in the dumpster is not even an option. All of the Managers and others involved would be gone if it happened even once. Your connection may work at FedEx Ground, which is a separate operation from Express, and even in that case I would find it very hard to beleive this takes place. Even if a few packages end up missing in one laocation, it raises a big red flag, so if many were getting tossed in the dumpster on a regular basis, something would be done in a hurry to find out what was going on. ![]() |

Being the lawyerly type that I am, I have an observation: If they are trying to say that the box was empty when it was accepted for shipment they will lose: DHL and all other shippers charge their shipping based on the weight of the box. Go back and review the shipping invoice. If it says the boxes weighed the same heavy amount when shipped, they cant then turn around and say it was empty when it was shipped.

Steve is right on the money They do weigh it in The problem most likely was down on the ramp Like I said before it was and always will be open season DHL will have to file a claim end of story But That does not help you when something can not be replaced
As far as What Fed X throwing stuff in dumpster Was told tonight were to go tomorrow and see for my self .My Self I do believe it 6 years ago this would not happen but today yea I can see them throwing stuff away Companies Like Fed X and DHL are more Concern and hours . I know very well after 18 years in the business. They do not care about your package they care more about hours it takes to deliver it Greg you said that you worked at FedEx as a temp on and off for a few years Have you ever worked on the ramp with the planes. Delaying a plane for 5 mins is like the end of the world to them. Work on the ramp 11.30 at night snowing like crazy cold as hell and have some people working 14 + hours you will see things that are just un believably. Yea stuff do disappear just to get that plane off That is were anything goes What is even worst is the customs agents. I have seen it my self they steel any thing that is not nailed down . then destroy the documentation and air bills They would tell me there was no package and when I try to report it was told to for get what I saw Could write a book on things that goes on with these companies That is why I said use Greyhound They do not have this B/S crap that the big dogs do |

I had a DHL delivery not make it also, and I was a little miffed, as "YH" wheels are expensive, and nice ones don't come along often enough. DHL was like, "whatever."
But I got to know my FedEx delivery guys, as our last resto required him to bring me A LOT of packages (started with a rolling shell, only). To quote the guy I saw the most, "we have been here many, many times." Those guys never lost or damaged a single one. Impressive, IMO. Does anyone "tip" their delivery guys? Christmas gift, maybe? I feel sorry for those guys sometimes... I get some REALLY heavy crap... Never heard of using Greyhound. Sounds like a good idea. JB |
