Bruce, the big Caddy is a '58, and I believe the Catalina is a '61.
Awesum quality photos, as usual!
Why somebody would put a small block in a Porche is a mystery to me. Why change the front/rear balance when the original motor was strong enough to beat any Chevy at the top end, which is what the car was engineered for. I don't think that adding weight to the rear end when the motor is behing the rear axle would improve quarter mile times.
