Kurt, Ive also heard it was more expensive to buy aluminum heads over the counter than the list price as a L89 option to a car , is that true??

Not too surprising. Parts always have more overhead costs, hence a higher price.
If anyone has a part # for the heads, I'll check the 69 price.
