Helmut, there are still a lot of hiding cars out there.
It's just getting harder to talk people into selling the old "projects" that have been sitting for decades.

Marlin, not the ones I am thinking of.

Stefano, you need to locate Brent Soles (sp).
He used to run B&B Automotive in Middletown.
I am sure he used to do engine work for the guy how had your car, way before Begley got it.
I have been told that Brent moved to somewhere around Camden.

Later,
Eric

There were at least 6 black Copo cars in Ohio, the black RS Copo is now with Brian at Supercar Workshops. I can't wait to see that one done!

I was finally able to get a little more info on the block, the number by the oil filter housing is 3963512 and the date code is H2570 if I'm reading it correctly. The block has been decked so I was not able to get the serial number from the front of the block.

Does the date code help narrow down if this in indeed a COPO block as originally thought?

Thanks for any assistance,
Tim

Tim,

August 25th, 1970 would make this a 454 block, not a COPO
427 block. This date makes it an early 1070 production run
block. Unless of course it was a service block ( CE ).
