Here I am with my first car that was mine! A 1970 Nova that originally had a 307 and an automatic and drum brakes all around. The guy I bought it from used it as a race car and had a Nasty Rat motor, 4spd and a 12 bolt with 5.13 gears. That car taught me how to drive. It also had Purple Hornie Glass packs on it and that thing was obnoxious to the point I had to shut it off about a mile from my house and coast into the driveway late at night. I loved cruising Van Nuys Blvd in that car back in the mid '70's.

It ran a 13.09 @ 111 mph missing through the lights after I drove to the track with six people in the car and never adjusted tire pressure or uncorked it. First time out with a pasenger too.











After a backfire through the Carb that blew the valve covers off!






Sitting in the back yard waiting for Money.....to repair.

Yep...Edelbrock Torker...mine was a 2-0 (O meaning oval port)

They also had a 2-R for rectagular port heads...

I thought that manifold was so cool...with the carb sitting at an angle.

Ouch, looks like something broke and came through the valve cover.

Car Craft's February 2007 issue came in today's mail. There's an article about a original owner to a 1970 Superbird. It was his first car.
