The car dosent look that bad, why would they not use this one as the build and forget about swapping the vins?

[/ QUOTE ] Because they are going to put a "reproduction" i.e. "fake" trim tag on it to make it look like a real SS, or big block with a desirable color combo. Far as I can see, that is the ONLY reason to put a VIN tag from another car on a crate body. Nothing wrong with the crate bodies, but they should be titled as shop built vehicles with state issued VIN, just like a fiberglass 32 Ford.
