Yes Dan, there are some really cool shots of the Clippenger hi-po cars on the net. I located a '67 Z that was from Clippenger a few years ago and recently found the original motor from the car in CA. I have been trying to buy the car for several years and came very, very close once, but it still sits in the garage where it has been since 1978! The owner knows that I have the motor and I have offered it to him should he ever want to restore the car...but I believe he will eventually sell me the car, so I am starting to collect the items to finish off the motor and would like to pick up some other neat parts to go with the car if I can.

Clippenger also had its own news letter. Similar in style to a Motion Club member, the Clippenger club was a tech/new car memo. Not seldom seen but if you're lucky, search ebay. From time to time they pop up. A near complete '67 set went on ebay for $50 or so.
Good deal Zedder, go bring her home.

Wow, now that would be neat to get a copy of! Well, I am patiently waiting for this car, but have been doing so for about 4 years now...finding the motor was a big plus...as was speaking to the original owner of the car

Hi Mark
Clippinger Chevrolet is very well known here in So Cal. We still see Vettes and other Hipo cars that came from that dealer originally. Harry Mann was another dealership that sold a lot of horsepower in the 60's and early 70's. There is a salesman from Clippinger that still has paperwork from the cars that he sold in the 60's. He couldn't find any paper on my car though, oh well. Dana

I know my 67 z/28 was sold new in California. I was told it originated at Courtesy Chevrolet. I wonder if that guy could check and see if maybe it was a Clippinger car?

Hi Dana, Can you PM me the fellow's name please? The car I am after has the original POP and that's how I found the original owner and got some early pics of the car from him. I would love to see if the salesman has the shipper or sales order for the car too! Mark

I have an update on the paperwork situation. I knew this would happen. The salesman just recently sold the boxes of paperwork to someone else. I should have stayed on top of that one. Anyways we are seeing who the new person is and what the process is to match the car with his paper. The good news is that the paperwork covers most of the hipo cars in the mid to late 60's including Camaros. I will keep you posted.
Dana
