Ken,
If there was slight surface rust in the nook and crannies, like between spot welded floor supports, I'd suggest spraying a rust converter, like Permatex Extend in all those areas. It will convert the iron oxide into iron sulfate (black), which will never again allow moisture or oxygen to reach the hidden metal. You can paint right over top of it, no prep.

Verne......What looks like rust is actually the residual red dirt from the area that the car came from....there is some very light surface rust and I'll be wiping everything down with Metal Prep that I got from the Local "Strip Right" dealer just to be sure......

Thanks
Ken

It's Winter Therapy.......I enjoy doing what everyone else hates......taking everything apart, cleaning and detailing, then re-assembly.......That's the fun part......when it's finished and I turn the key for the first time, it turns into just another car to be "Driven"

Ken

(And it keeps the "Little " Woman out of my Hair......LOL)

Ain't that the truth? My neighbors couldn't begin to understand why I spent three months on my back under a car removing 30+ year old undercoating with kerosene and toothbrushes. "Nobody's ever gonna see it!"

Except me!

OK Ken, Just trying to help. I couldn't tell from the picture just what I was looking at in those little areas. You're doing a nice job, and I agree, that really is the fun part. Every time you make something a little better, it puts a smile on your face. Most people will never see the results of all that work, but YOU will know and it will keep that smile on...
