Cast iron holley intake and carb on the 66. Q-jet and iron q-jet intake on the 67. The true 360 hp most were 4-bolt blocks. They used the 962 block for both 360 & 375 hp Chevelles in 66. Also open air cleaner on the 66 not sure on the 67 Chevelle. The 66 961 block was for the 2-bolt motors. The 67 used a 406 block for both the 375 & 350 hp one was 4-bolt & the other 2-bolt. Hope this helps.

Kim,,, Thanks for the comeback. I have a bit of a problem however as I bought a 67 396/350 Chevelle new and it had a single feeder Holley on it. I remember other 67s with 325s having quadrajets though........Bill S

The `67 Chevelle 325 horsepower 396 used a Quadrajet carb and a single snorkle air cleaner, and the 350 horsepower version used a Holley carb with the open element air cleaner.

Odd that they would use a larger carburetor (advertised 750 cfm) on the 325 HP engine than they did the 350HP engine (advertised 585 cfm), then proceed to choke the larger carb with the more restrictive air cleaner and give the smaller carb the better air cleaner.

Silly engineers.

Eric

Same problem you have for the 350 hp L-79 66&67 nova 585 cfm in stock & super/stock they were DOGS because of the carb.

This might be true but it hasn't been my experience. I've heard about and seen VERY few 66 360 hp Chevelles that had the 962 block. All but a handful have been 961.

My '66 L78 is a 961 block. It was a Fremont build 07B.
