Great photo Astrojet. I can almost see the GOLD 427 emblem on the fender (see attached). All 427 Pontiacs from 66 to 69 had this emblem. As "car crazy" kids we would always check full sized Pontiacs in town for the Gold 427 emblem and if the car had one we would check to see if it had a 4 speed (Ha Ha). Here's the breakdown on large engines from 65 to 69. 65- Super-Flame 409/340&400hp, 66- Jet-Flame 427/390&425hp, 67- Jet Flame 427/385hp, 68- Jet Flame 427/385hp, and 69- 427 Astro-Jet 427/335&390hp. The classified ad from Wheelspin News 1969 of the 67/ 425hp Laurentian that I posted earlier make me think it may have been a special order car out of Oshawa. Thanks for starting this thread Todd. Cnd. Pontiacs don't get much discussion.....Bill

No, THANK YOU Bill for the photos! Any more? Were you involved with the dealers back then? I was only a year old in 69 but I can remember my Dad taking me in his 69 Strato Chief to all the dealers for the new car showings back when it was a big deal. Believe it or not, I remember looking at the new '73s! Alas, the glory days were over by then..
ASTROJET: THANKS for that photo of the 69 Strato Chief. Any more? Todd

Find me a 409 62 Laurentian or whatever the Pontiac big body was called !! [/ QUOTE ] They're out there...at least were and more 'common' as the Parrisienne! In my opinion, the W-Strato Chiefs are the plums. . As I've said before, the possible built late '61 409 Strato Chief has always been my dream car...the 2 Door Post 'Utility Sedan' to be specific!!! Here's a link to a few interesting projects...click around into the 'Canadian Pontiac Registry' and see what you can find. http://www.bruneauperformance.ca/page4.html I've an original '62 brochure on these here somewhere too that's very interesting...haven't laid eyes on it in years but I'll try and dig it up. . ![]() ~ Pete
