It will only tell you if it is a V8 or 6 cylinder. There was at least one Supercar dealer that installed 427's in 68 Novas. The Vin #'s of those cars are known and are listed on this site.

I saw a sticky with VINs for 1969 and up vehicles but where is the list of 1968 vehicles?
