[/ QUOTE ] Stefano, If that is true, then why does the NCRS make such a big deal about broach marks? It's often a topic of discussion there..... Stated another way, if the broach marks & stampings can be "cloned" easily enough, why do they make such a fuss?

The broach marks can be reproduced, and the engine can be restamped.
However there is a large database of numbers from almost EVERY SINGLE day of production. Still hard to fool the experts with access to that knowlege. IMO the repro stuff always looks too perfect. Here is a well known pad "recreation", that looks very good. ![]() ![]() |
