Good to see members of the sYc doing so well at the Pure Stock drags.

Hats off to the Pennington crew for tearing down, making their 11:54 official.

<font color="red"> 1.Julie Pennington 1969 L88 Vette Auto 11:54 @ 121.++ mph !!
2.Jimmy Johnston 1969 L88 Vette 4spd 11:70s

3.Bob K. 11.80's 1970 Hemi Cuda auto
4.Jim Mattison 1969 L-88 Vette

5.Mark Weymouth 1971 LS6 Vette,auto? 12:00s
6.Copo Pete 1969 Camaro ZL1 Auto 12:10s

7.Rob Clary 1969 Yenko Camaro 427 L72 Auto 12:20
8.Jim Spetzman 440CI Mopar

In all, 4 of the fastest 8 were 69-71 Corvettes. 6 of the 8 were big block Chevys.

And for all the non believers that were in the crowd, Terry and crew P&amp;G'd Friday, then pulled a head, exhaust manifold and the camshaft after the final run on Saturday. Everything was available for everyone that cared to take a look. The tech crew inspected everything. 11.54 @ 121.++, driven by a GIRL !!

Rolled in at 5:30 this morning...and just like clockwork the kids were climbing on me by 7:30! As Eminem says, "Back to reality"! LOL!! Great to be home, though...

Anyway, about Stanton...super weather both days, and the Bow-tie brigade flat took it to the rest of the field! We found some more ET/MPH in the yellow submarine...the new Poly bushings helped out my short times, but all that energy is now making it to the track and it's hazing the tires *HARD* on the 1-2 shift...like kick the rear out hard! Lots of "pucker" when the rear steps out at speed on these tires...so, the valve body is coming out, as I'm pretty confident there's a tenth and some MPH to be had just from softening the shift. For a heavy Camaro (3746!) she ain't running too bad...

Big Dog had Julie going just filthy fast in the 'Vette, and even his bonehead brother Scott jumped in the car and ran an 11.58 while drifting the car in a couple gears! JJ's 'Vette was just a tick back in the 11.60s running his usual HUGE MPH (121-122!)...Pete's car was fighting him the entire weekend, but he was still going low 12-teens, but had a tough draw against an LS6 'Vette that had seen some 12.0s. I drew Spetzman's 440-6 SuperBee for either the 3rd of 4th year in a row!

As alwayz................ amazing time. My car did fight me all week-end. Thought it was carb, but now am thinking dist. Time to put it on a machine and see. Congrats Rob on your 12.20! 136 cars showed up to run and run they did. Again, all you guys need to experience this event at least once in your life! The parking lot cook off is second to none. Bruno and his hen "Peg" cooked up 500, count them, five hundred lamb cabobs(sp)! Thanks Bruno!

Quoting Eminem huh? I guess that Sirius satellite radio really "broadened" your horizons over the weekend lol
