Don...With such a bold statement you really need to give a explanation. [/ QUOTE ] CHARLIE,I WILL TRY TO EXPLAIN WHAT I SAID. ITS A LONG STORY SO BEAR WITH ME. I GO ON THE PY PONTIAC SITE. NOW A GUY A FEW WEEKS AGO WAS ASKING HOW MUCH A 70 TA RAM IV CAR WAS WORTH,HE THEN PUTS IT ON EBAY WHERE I THINK HE GOT AROUND 40K FOR IT. HE SAYS ALSO THAT HE WILL HAVE OTHER CARS FOR SALE ALSO. THE L89 CAR HERE IS ALSO ONE OF HIS CARS THAT HE IS SELLING. HIS NAME ON THE PONTIAC SITE IS PONTIACHOMESLICE WHICH ALSO HAPPENS TO BE THE NAME OF THE HIGH BIDDER ON THE CAMARO. CAN YOU NOW SEE WHAT HE'S DOING? THIS IS DEFINETLY WHAT WRONG WITH THIS BUISNESS OF MUSCLE CARS ANYMORE. THESE GUYS JOIN SITES TO EDUCATE THEM,EVERYONE OPENS UP AND TELL THEM ITS WORTH AND THEN THEY STICK IT TO YA EVERYTIME. IVE SPENT A LIFETIME TO GET MY KNOWLEDGE BUT THESE GUYS GET IT FOR FREE AND GUESS WHAT,THEY USE IT TO GET RICH QUICK. EVERYBODY SELLS CARS TO BETTER THEMSELVES,I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND USING PEOPLE LIKE THAT. CHECK OUT THE PONTIAC SITE AND YOU WILL SEE WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT.....SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS... ![]()

LOL...Don...stop yelling. We all come to these sites to get educated. They earned their reward when they found the car. So they come and find out what market value is,nothing wrong with that. If they are bidding on it themselves there is a problem but I can't find fault with surfing the net to figure out what it is worth. |

I agree, what's wrong with someone wanting to know what their car is worth? Don, are you mad that it took you so long to gain all this info or mad because others can now get it fast and free?

After reading this Thread I have a couple of comments.
1. Shill bidding is never a good thing but if you think it only happens on eBay then everyone is fooling themselves. I have seen it first hand at numerous major auctions. Is making all the cars no reserve and then letting the owner buy the car back okay? It certainly is a great way to get exposure for your car and raise the value! With the way prices get pushed up every year after Barrett Jackson and the credibility that BJ brings to the car it is a great investment to do just that. 2. Everyone wants a bargain but the person who finds that deal is entitled to whatever the market will pay. It is easy for someone to complain about prices but I guarantee that if they bought it cheap they would also ask for the moon. So lets not pick on anyone for making a buck. 3. These cars have become an investment vehicle for many people. Most of whom have lost heavy in the Stock Market. At least with a car you can enjoy driving, showing, restoring and still make money to boot! That will keep prices rising. Supply in demand just like everything else (gasoline is a great example of that)! I am just thankful that my passion and hobby has an upside. Just my opinion for whatever its worth. Thanks

Jason, Ive had the knowledge since i was 16 yrs old. If you talk to anyone who knows me personally they will tell you that i will help anyone who need a value or a tech question answered because i truely love these old cars
Nobody loves GTO'S more than I, Hell I had them when you were made fun of for having a Judge. But anyway I just think Its one thing to help someone out and let them enjoy their car like you do but when its done underhanded to gain wealth then I have a problem with that. I promise I wont bitch no more so nobody thinks its about me. I was really just trying to help but I will keep shut from now on. Someday you will see my point.
