The original owner of our SS396 Chevelle didn't take long to install the Hurst Competition Plus that is still in the car to this day. The shifter in the Chevelle that we bought new broke early on and it was also replaced with a Competition Plus as well. It will be in the car again when we get it on the road after more that 175K miles the first time around. A friend's COPO Chevelle also got a Hurst early in its life. I don't know anyone who had any kind of luck with the Muncie shifter. I guess that they should have let Hurst design the repro Muncie.

Seems to me that I saw a "combination shifter" somewhere
recently ( possibly NPD ) that featured a Hurst body &
lingage setup coupled with a special Muncie chrome handle.
I guess this is the best of both worlds.

when you get the hurst wack the Muncie handle off, groove the handle base, drill two holes, bolt on... and now your gonna look cool and grab gears all at the same time...

Hey Bud if I cant get a repro muncie shifter that was made for the hurst th ats what I will do ASAP. As this shifter is preventing me form driving the new restored camaro
