The prices never stop to amaze me.
It's just a radiator cap - they made 500,000 of these. ![]() |

Boy did we all miss the boat. Invest for the future we were all told in 401K, stocks, etc. However nothing could give you the return on your investment we are now seeing on some of the what we all thought were just which they are mega produced GM parts.Yes we all probally held on to a bit but when you see a rad cap go for 400, dip sticks for 600,a rear speaker kit last week for 650. How many of these caps did we all walk by over the years at meets NOS with a 5 or 10 dollar purchase price.

So, if you had collected all the stuff you ever saw over the years.
Would you be selling now? Do you think the values of the old parts will continue to rise? Could that $400 RC15 be worth $600 in 2 years? Or, do you think this stuff has peaked, and you would dump it all now? ![]() Only just a few years back, I helped liquidate a lifelong collection of Ford Model A & T parts. We couldn't give the stuff away. |

Yep. It is time for some items. I think Ebay has all of us going through boxes. I am a pack rat that loves my parts more than money so it is hard. I always liked to trade more than sell.I think the repo market also will determine if the value of old parts will continue to rise.If the repo part is manufactured properly kiss the top dollars for our nos stuff goodbye. Also a lot of the NOS was not that good even new especially chromed items.
I can see the issue with the model a parts but think it would have been a different story if they were 33-34 ford items. Unfortunately I have only saved 70 ss chevelle parts for 30 years and still have the first one I bought in 76. Hope some day I don't have the same problem as the model a. |

Well, I thought ahead, and grabbed every little part I could find for many-many years, and still have most of it.
Just don't have the time to go through and inventory it all. Now I am starting to worry that I might miss the boat on these ridiculous prices. ![]() ![]() Last year I said: "2006 was the year to liquidate", but here we are again in September - This summer, I did sell about 25 sets of seat belts. And maybe 30 POA valves. Barely made a dent, but the wife was happy. ![]() |

Jeff, are those parts in your house? I though I was the only one with that disease!
