Scott, use this guy. Have the owner take it to his shop and he'll put it up on a hoist and go over it from head to toe. He did my '67 L79 for me and only charged me $50! The guy that Rick posted knows his stuff, but did not come well recommended when I was looking for an inspection last year:

I also know of Northside Corvettes who have been around for a VERY long time. If they have not changed their business practice since when I used to deal with them they are still very respectable.
I actually got my start at Corvette Specialties in the early 80's but that was when Bob B. owned it. I do not know the current owners all that well. Rick

Another one to call would be Al Hagen at Yesterday's Auto in Mpls, 612-872-9733. He's been appraising since the 80's (taught me to do it while I worked for him in the mid 90's). He's done some Corvette judging as well as having sold a number through his dealership through the years. Still has the '62 Vette he bought after getting out of the Navy in '68! I think he charges $200 for an off-site appraisal these days, but you might want to call him and verify. Anyone in the area should check out the shop on 28th and Lyndale, Neat old building, laid back vibe.
