As Denis posted, they were a welded retrofit and not clamped. One of my old SS's had a service receipt for the retrofit in the glove box...

My bad regarding retrofit axel bracket. It was welded on at the dealerships. I must have it mixed up with another retrofit.

axel... like in rose? Welded yes. Welcome to the jungle, no. axle bracket would only make this powerslide equipped ca-macho even slower due to weight gain....

Yep, you're right...but it IS Axel Foley, right?
From what I remember...Guns & Roses got their name from two bands...the LA GUNS and the Hollywood Roses... AXL got his name froma band he was in...Ironically called A.X.L. His real name is William Bruce Bailey (William Rose). Enough of the GNR trivia... ![]()
