French Connection still has the best car chase scene I've ever seen.
I also like the Burt Reynolds movie, White Lightning. He had a brown [Chrysler] see-dan with a 426 hemi provided by the FBI. |

that was actually a 72 galaxie 500 Burt Reynolds drove in that movie.if you remember,they did a in car shot of him sitting in it,but he was actually sitting in a Mach 1 with 4 speed,and later in the show you can see Burt shoving the galaxie into park.

I haven't seen the movie in many years but I also recall that the car sounded like a 4 spd but clearly wasn't....no lurching and both hands seen on the wheel when the car made the sound of shifting....unless Burt was shifting the car with a different appendage. ![]() |

Loved the old starsky and hutch tv show, car was an automatic, but in any chase scene it turned into a standard!
