Not to derail the original thread, but ...... COOL ! The "Ennis" car that I now own was originally out of Sioux Falls, SD, so I'm sure we're talking about the same one. Butternut yellow with chrome door surround trim (kinda different on a Biscayne). I'm betting that the "Union Jack" Biscayne was a like-optioned L72 car that was silver/gray.....also from the Sioux Falls area ???? Fortunately for me, we were able to hook up with the original owner, Ennis, on our way back from Alaska a couple of months ago. Plenty of cool stories, but not a single dern picture. Do you remember a Hemi Cuda called the "Hair Bender" from the same area ?

Apologies for stealing the thread. Casey, I think you are right about the Union Jack. I can't remember the guys name but I think the car was that silver grey color. The Hairbender was Jim Schlotman sp? out of Sioux Falls he ran Mopars. Before the Cuda he had an R029 GTX SS/DA car that he did real well with. He was sponsored by Stewart's School of Hair Styling hence the Hairbender name. I loved to watch those L72 Biscaynes run. I knew a guy named Duane Blair that lived here in Omaha and ran a 66 Biscayne called "Budman". I guess he liked to drink a lot. Seems to me as the Ennis car and the Jack car were running 12.20s at the meet I saw them at. That was pretty stout for D/S in 69. Frank

VERY cool Frank !! Here's a shot of the car when I had at the SCR in '04. It is about 60-70% or so original paint. The sides were lightly "dusted" to get rid of the shadowing of the lettering, etc. in the early 80's.

Ask and yee shall receive .... (at least some info).

This car used to be raced by Mike Sullivan out of Muskegon, Michigan. He was directly supported with parts from Oldsmobile's big race "gun", by the name of Dale Smith. Dale was essentially "the man" when it came to supporting Olds racing thru Engineering, etc.

As the story goes ..... Mike got into some bad relationships on the East side of Michigan and wound up getting killed. This was around '72-'73. Everything was hush-hush, and the Hurst just kinda disappeared.

Can you fill in any blanks from there Rich ??

YES - I did get the VIN. Still working on that one ......
