The time has come for me to put my 1970 Van Nuys built 17 17 Z 28 up for sale. I want to offer it here first before dealing with EBAY because many of you have been so helpful during my “restoration phase” (you know who you are).
After being built during the first week April of 1970 in Van Nuys, this car was delivered to Courtesy Chevrolet Center in San Diego, California. This is a dry and rust free car. This car has RIDICULOUS documentation. To begin with there is the original owner temporary plate, original owner registration through 1985, original owner insurance card, original owners manual with plastic envelope and Protect-O-Plate. There are three partial built sheets from the gas tank, the driver’s seat and under the carpet. There are also various sales receipts from original owner for shocks, battery, tires, alignment, muffler, etc. ranging from 1974 to 1986. The engine was rebuilt in March of 2004 according to receipts from Mesa Machine Supply in Escondido, California. Engine was built to stock specifications with the only change being 10 to 1 pistons. After purchasing the car in July of 2004, I have rebuilt the front end, the brake system, power steering, heater core and radiator. I have replaced the carburetor (with a service 4555), shocks and muffler and refinished the wheels. It has new Goodyear Re-Pops. The interior has new carpet, seat covers, head liner and dash. The windshield was also replaced. Although there is no readable VIN on the engine block, there is a production code which is VO327CTB. The block stamping is clearly visible which is shown in attached pictures. Pictures of any particular part of the engine that may be required can be obtained by request. The original M-21 transmission is long gone and has been replaced with a T-10 transmission (probably from Sears). Rear end is the original 373. Distributor is 1111150 7 F6 which is not correct for this car. The car was repainted years ago and is by no means a show car, but it would be considered a true “10 footer” with tremendous potential. A front spoiler was installed for looks even though it is not “correct” for this car. Selling price: $50,000 Purchase of this car includes the original dash, bezel, carpet, am radio and blue license plates. However, the license plate frame is not included. If you are interested in the car PM me or call me with any questions. Thank you to Yenko website for posting this ad. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Bart,
Sweeeet Car, would love to own a 70.5 Z to go with my 69. Are you selling it to replace it with something else? Did you sell it yet?
