What I was told when we did ours was that ZL1 engines were all assembled with the tray. For Camaro applications they cut the factory baffle out of the 4 quart pan. We did not use the tray and left the baffle in the pan.
Ask Ken Barnhardt.

if I remember right they had to mod the pan cause the studs for the tray were in the way and they did not use the trays
the vet pan is to long on the bottom to fit a camaro it will hit the steering rods |

Thanks Eddie!
I figured the Vette pan would interfere with the steering linkage, else GM would have used it back in the day. Steve

it sure would have been better if the camaros could have a bigger pan seems like everytime i get on it i think about that small pan with no baffle

Hey Eddie maybe a shallow Moroso pan would work for you. They may have them in 6QT. capacity for the BB.

it had one on it when i first got it and i should have left it on but with the wheels i put on back then left it pretty close to the road and it did hit a couple of times but with the stock wheels there is plenty of room now maybe if i ever pull the motor back out that is what i will do unless i end up selling it its getting harder and harder to not worry about the car sure is taking the fun out of driving it
