Here is a picture of the location of the casting date (this view is from the rear of the car looking forward). Not sure what the "x" is you mention. Any history on this axle?

Sam, The #'s on this rearend are on the left side as you look at the cover and best I can make is H 107 H being august I assume? thanks for any help
