is that an idler gear for a gear drive??? cool looking car ![]() [/ QUOTE ] Yes, my geardrive was making what seemed to be alot more noise than normal and when I removed the timing cover to investigate the "dogbone" piece was actually hanging off the assembly. Look closely at the geardrive picture at the piece in the titleblock of the print. I have the old pieces and the new pieces there. I made the new pieces twice at thick and then case hardened them. I used the old pieces to model the new ones using a 3D CAD program, made a print and then made 2 on a CNC machine. Honestly the whole design/manufacturing process took less than 3 hours. The reassembly took 2 Sundays.

Nice Car! I had a 66 L-79 car back in the late 80's, what a blast to drive. One of the better body styles that GM produced in my opinion.
