[ QUOTE ]
Why start a thread asking what it's worth if it's not for sale? Just asking. dave [/ QUOTE ] Because I don't want a flood of PM's or emails asking if the car is for sale. The sale is being negotiated between 2 private individuals and I was asked to take a look at the car. The description I recieved was fairly accurate with the exception of the missing original engine. Had the DZ motor been there the deal would have been done. We figure that the lack of the DZ kills the value by at least 10k the way the car sits now... I am just trying to put a fair value on the car.

I'll step up to the plate and give my 02. If the car was indeed a numbers car, without looking a conservative estimate 40K +/-. But since it looks like everthing is wrong under the hood I would say 25K is a good number.

Looks like a decent combination but original paint doesn't seem to add too much value in this case since it has a lot of rusty areas underneath and the engine and Z28 parts are gone. It's very tough to put a guesstimate on something like that without seeing the paint condition in person. But my point of view is that the car looks like it would still need to be restored to clean it up properly so original paint doesn't help. I'd agree with the $20-25K range.
