Default Re: NEW 1969 BALDWIN MOTION CAMAROS!!!

guys,
those comments about our motion cars being bolt together cars disappointed us in more than one way. Those of you who have seen the supercoupe in real life know that every part of that body is steel ! No fiberglass at all. those flairs,L/88 hood , dash, console are all hand made with hours and hours of time into them.
The frame was all hand made. All the suspension was aftermarket and well thought out. The dash pad, interior and all panels are all custom .
If you wanted to build one of these you would have a hard time doing it through a mail order catolog.
Even the rear end support was hand made from billet aluminum !! everything !! We had so many hours into that car to get it ready for SEMA working 7 days a week . not 40 hour weeks for sure.
To have people blast our cars on the internet and TV really hurts the Baldwin Motion name and the guys busting their humps to bring the hobby some really cool cars.
Well, blast us or not. We are in the middle of building more cars. sales are good and when you see the next one finished you will say "man, thats even better than the first one." Well, most of you will. What I'm saying is.. just dont believe everything you hear about "bolt together cars"
There are bolt together cars out there but they're not ours. And there are people out there that blast everycar they see . those are usually the guys that just dont know what they are talking about. imagine that...
And to all the motion guys that have supported us here
and at the events... THANKS !!! steve

As an owner of a 69 and connoisseur too, all I can say is that while checking it out at the B-J Auction a month or so ago in Scottsdale.....it's a Bitchin'machine. And I'd beat the snot out of it too; THAT'S what it's built for! (check out the attached to see what my 69 was up to last weekend since the weather was nice)

If I had that type of discretionary money...YO...I'd order one......it's HARDLY a bolt together car!

Well put steve.what you need to understand is,most of the bashing is done by people who have 50k invested in their roach smallblock car thats worth 8k.or people who have never built or owned a high end car. ask anyone who has HAD a car built from scratch,by a reputable builder and see how much it costs!!!!street rods cost a small fortune to have built and when your done you have another car thats worth half as much as it cost to build....or less!!!! MOTION cars certainly arent for everyone, but when the cars done........you have a real baldwin motion built car.HOW COOL IS THAT!!! its always gonna be a real motion car,and it will always have a stong value. bottom line....you get what you pay for.sure you can have someone build a camaro out of catalogs for you.whatever you want.but its not or will it ever be a BALDWIN MOTION CAR.we'll finish this conversation in 20-30 years.if i only had the money!!!!!!!!! and by the way.....you better get one while you can.they arent building enough of these cars if you ask me.

BOB

I'll be meeting up with 'Budnate' at Pavillions tonight! BTW, Bud is on the left...Denis is on the right. Nice shirt Denis!

Nice car, well built. Saw its press release while covering SEMA and i saw it at BJ. That being said, for me the car is like a Boyd coddington that would appeal to a wider audience than just a custom rod. If I had 450k to spend, it would not be on that car, just my opinion. I think it is priced too high would have liked to have seen a lesser version with a bigger run that was more attainable.
As far as value, will it react like other expensive customs?
And get you only half what you put into it? Probably not because of the nod to real BM cars, but i don;t expect it to go up real soon real fast.

I think the bolt together comment that was made at BJ was refering to the early model BM cars.
