Default Re: new ! SS 427's and Phase III motion camaros!

I can't imagine that they wouldn't start with a 1969 registered Camaro. The kit car industry is being hammered on registering Cobras as 1960's vehicles when they are new. Many States are auditing their records looking for replica cars that are registered fraudulently as 40 year old vehicles and making them current year vehicles along with all the associated requirements. The day of these being "loophole" vehicles is limited or done in many if not all states. Even if one gets away with registering a replica as an old vehicle, it will probably be questioned when reregistered.
There was a Texas Cobra club event here last weekend and this topic was discussed. A fellow with a CSX continuation Cobra expressed his concern to me about registering the vehicle. He's not sure what hoops he may have to jump through to get plates and he certainly doesn't feel that he can use a 1965 vintage plate.
