I don't get it. If it's a nicely preserved numbers matching car with 402 then why does the air cleaner and fenders have 454 stickers/emblems??
Am I missing something? Shouldn't it have 402 or 396 emblems/decals?? Rick H. |

Rick H,,,,,There are two kinds of simple trim and decal changes. Some guys want sleepers and go the other way (396 emblems on LS6s). Other guys want the car to be a bit more than they have to the casual observer, like this car. Actually the only thing I dont understand is why the owner didnt make the quick change, at least for the auction so people would have no doubt in their minds about the car.......Bill S

SS402's and SS350's didn't have engine call-out's on the front fenders

Bill,
Actually that was my point. If you are claiming a nice preserved numbers matching car then why advertise that the A/C decal is wrong and has wrong fender badges? Best to fix the little stuff correctly (if that is truely all that is wrong) and not mention it at all in my opinion. As mentioned it does raise a little doubt. Rick H. |

Maybe, he can't remove the 454 emblems, because someone drilled holes into the fenders to mount them.
