Your numbers are a little off . . .

The option was made available on the Cutlass hardtop, Cutlass S sport coupe, Cutlass S hardtop, and Cutlass Supreme ragtop. So those 920 (assuming that's the right answer for non-ragtops) were both hardtops and post coupes.

Going from memory, 17 were Cutlass hardtops and 19 were Cutlass S sport coupes. The rest were Cutlass S hardtops.

PS> You should know better!

Yes,Diego. I should check the facts before hitting the reply button. I was going from the number I had on a show car sign when I owned a 72 w-30. The 920 number may have only been the Cutlass S hardtops and may have excluded the post coupe and Cutlass hardtop.
PS Air Conditioning could not be ordered on a 72 W-30 and you could't get a w-30 in California.

Air Conditioning could not be ordered on a 72 W-30 X code? I didn't know that, you sound as if you know about 442's. This is the only year this option was not available with AC if your information is correct.

Canuck,

Wow, 2 1971 W-30's, that's awsome. I've got 2 1971 LS-6 Corvettes.

In 1970-71, automatic W-30s could get AC, but not on the sticks due to the cam. No idea why they didn't substitute a milder cam like Pontiac did.

I thought the trend was the same for '72, but apparently not!

I just talked to the owner and it doesn't have air. It is 455 w-30 has fiberglass hood. Never been worked on, 90,000 miles, said it is a cutlass s. What would this car be worth??? Gold with black buckets auto on the floor. Some rust but runs fine.

Not very much, it's an Olds. But I'll take it off your hands.
