The trunk is perfect. Tom, I am proud of you. You have seen the light. And about being ugly, take that car when you are done, along with your favorite restored nova to York or the Nova nationals and take note on which car gets the most attention. Also which car is MORE fun! Must be some good stuff in the drinking water in those NY hills lately. Now for BBBenny's bomb....should have let Schonye deliver it turn key so Benny don't mess it up with the smog pump and the 14 inch baby tires. Might as well put single exhaust on that bad boy Benny! Tom for President of the day-2 club.

Hold on Tom, I am driving up! Hope M doesn't here about all this sinful stuff you are doing?

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm not pickin on ya Sammy, just trying to convince ya that the Day1 look is not all that bad - and that a Day1 car can run with the Day2 stuff! Just tryin to get you to run your car at the 'grove or E-town, or an SCR - show me what this day2 stuff can do

I won't beat up the Day2 look if you won't beat up the Day1 look

Never again will I mention it. Besides how day-2 is my car? You saw it. A set of headers and some Lakewoods.

And I suppose those tire marks were already there when you two drove up??? Uhh, yes officer, as a matter of fact they were!

[/ QUOTE ]

Actually they were. My tires can't make marks that thin. Mine makes marks like these. (Challenger is a different story )

Update on "the project"....

Decided to check over some engine components and replace for peace of mind...lots of play in timing chain, so that's gone and since valve springs are original they are history too. Got some parts together from the shop today like: valve covers, BB deep groove pulleys, alternator, and lots of little stuff from the "parts pile". Next step will be new front springs, upper control arm bushings and shocks. Freshening up brakes front and back, calipers, hoses, etc. Want to be sure steering/brakes are good to go. Checked date codes on the 291 heads today..both the same K28 9. Sorry didn't get that new digital camera yet..maybe this week.
