Just out of curiosity, what is a "rear" Supercar odddity?
![]() When I worked at Ford Casting in Flatrock MI back in '74, about 40-50% of the castings were scrapped, because the sand wasn't packed just right in the molds. My guess would be the block was red-tagged, and somehow didn't get tossed back into the smolter. ![]() I wonder how that happened? ![]()

![]() ![]() Guys! I was just wondering about this logo based upon another post about it. It certainly is the most detailed Winters logo I have ever seen. You can even make out the "R" in the lower right. Could this have been an original prototype that was saved for some reason? ![]() BTW, based upon some other feedback I have been getting on this block, I'm wondering if it can even be fully machined. I understand that the Tonawanda plant did all of the final milling on these ZL-1 blocks back in the day. So that begs the question: Does the Tonawanda plant even have the original jigs, fixtures, and tooling required to finish machine this part? If they don't, what are the possibilities that any machine shop could come close to getting things alligned properly? Did somebody say boat anchor? ![]() Steve
