Pete's going to have to get some sun glasses, with all those flashbulbs popping. I never get tired of looking at that car though, way to go Pete!

Thanks guys. It would have never happened without the "Supercar Reunion"! Thanks Clary's and all supporters of this great site. I think the last reunion must have gotten about 20 different features between cars and the reunion itself. That is just one of the reasons why it is the "best show on earth!

Hey...Speaking of Pete...I was watching Dream Car Garage yesterday...and who did I see? COPO Pete Simpson...that's who! They were driving a yellow COPO (Who's is it?) and shaved seven tenths off of the baseline run during the show with some tuning...cool stuff!
Also...they said that they were going to restore an LS6 El Camino during the season...is that the El Camino that's owned by Dave C. now? ![]()

Congradulatiions to ya Pete. Nice to see the hard work paying off with big dividens. Is thier going to be a 2nd part to the show. Would like to see the producer give you a car to finish up the show. Jim

"THE REST OF THE STORY"
We will not get another shot at the Camaro. It was his COPO that he had sitting on his show room floor. After his last shootouts on his show he got "a ton" of hate mail for having cars go that slow. He called JJ and I to show us how it was done. The thing was, he wanted to use his car, so he knew it was all in the up and up. The deal was, he would bring a COPO Camaro, race ready in his eyes. We would make changes, and he would drive, but the last two passes would be JJ's in the seat with the 4 speed. What he failed to mention was that after we got the 13.0, we did more changes, but he bent a valve which cut the day short. We were bummed, cause there was a 12.50 in the car for fun. At least we got 7 tenths out of it before the day ended. He has since fixed the valve and sold the car! It was a fun day, and he was very accomodating! Peter ![]() ![]() |
