I am on my 12th year in package.Mistoggle is when a package is scanned into the wrong trailer but then somehow ends up in the right one.Example would be a sorter accidently scans a package into a trailer but then catches his mistake and puts the package in the right one without(scanning)and removing the barcode from the wrong trailer.A mistoggle is really no big deal as it happens at my hub every day from simple human error.Missorts are worse and they too are common. If you are truley dead set and dont give up your package will show up unless it was stolen. The worse thing is if your item arrives damaged.Good luck

UPS or as I know them OOPS.I'm sure they have some dedicated employees but that is a minority. It's even worse in Canada because we not only have to deal with their poor attitude we get severly "raped" on their customs brokerage fees.Example:I buy something on ebay, price $100 USD,ship it with post office brokerage fee $5.Same item shipped UPS,brokerage fee $54.50.When I ask them why they charge 1000% more for the same service the girl simply says"funny, thats our number one complaint"and walks away.So if a Canadian buys something off of you there is a good reason he wants it shipped USPS NOT UPS.I had a friend purchase a ZL1 block (in a crate)and a corner of the block was missing. How do you compensate that?I can't understand why many US suppliers prefer them. It's ALL ABOUT THE MONEY$$$$$$$$$$$

I know you shouldn't have to , but Would it make them more responsible if you overkilled on the stated value and paid for extra insurance...???
Most of the items I send out or I'm to recieve, I'll ask for 3day or next day delivery--Less time it has to be on a truck or traveling thru states--It cost me a little more but to have no headaches is priceless....So far I've been lucky.. |

There is a problem with insuring it for more it's actual value. It it is lost or damaged, UPS wants proof of the value or a receipt showing the value. Been there, done that.

We'll then maybe paying for quicker delivery would keep the item out of their hands for any length of time and not give them a chance to lose it--Sorta like my wife and money...You didn't hear that from me...

AHHHHHHHHH UPS.. I bought a set of 291s that were delivered by big brown. Luckily I was home at the time as each head weighed about 70% of the driver's weight. So I unloaded them and paid the $151.00 for duty and brokers fees. That was on top of the $140.00 I pre-paid for shipping.. A month later I recieve an invoice for the 151.00. I called and explained this but I have received another invoice since. Oh, sorry to get off track here Rick, I am sure your part will arrive safe.

Epilogue 2 months later:
I finally received my full money spent refund from UPS yesterday. The item they lost was found at UPS overgoods at the Salt Lake City Utah hub.Apparentally it lost it's exterior adhesive shipping label, and that's where they ship those items of undetermined origin. It sat there awhile until they sold it at their salvage auction, which is routine. I later sent them a picture of the item, and Utah UPS hub did recognize the item as being sold at their salvage auction afterwards. They contacted the salvager of it and asked if they would consider selling it back to UPS,through Goodwill salvage..they declined. ![]() Anyway this entire situation could have been avoided if the sender would have just written my address on the box,as well as apply the label, and written my address down on a piece of paper and stuck that inside the shipping box too. I do this with ALL the packages I send out,but this sender relied solely on the small UPS 3X2 inch adhesive label. I would like to Thank all of you who contacted me with ideas and connections within UPS to try to find my item. UPS also has been nothing but helpful in trying to resolve this. They are human, and it happens. They stayed in touch with me constantly via email & telephone, and I feel went above & beyond the call of trying to locate this item. This is the only time I have ever had anything like this happen with UPS in the 25 years I have dealt with them, and I will continue to do so. I you all.I'm watching Ebay to see if the salvager possibly throws it up there,so No I won't tell you what it was. ![]() |
