The difference is in the lengths of the shaft, and possibly the position of the yokes on each end in relation to each other. I'm pretty sure the TH400 shaft is shorter than the others, the muncie/PG ones are a little longer, and the TH350 is the longest.

Boy I was just put in my place. I wonder where I got that from? I guess that was a figment of my imagination or someone told me the wrong information. Sorry about that guys.

Learn something new everyday.

The Z28 had a faded orange stripe like yours Darren. I should have a picture around here somewhere... (???)

Darren,
The stripes on my LA built M21 Z are white/orange.

69Z, M20 that Im restoring now had orange and white stripes near the front, next to each other, and a single orange further down, near the middle. Also had white, blue, and yellow dabs on the yokes/ujoints.

Have the measurements of them, but not handy right now.

This is the problem I've seen.
Three cars, all Z's, all should have the same colors. Did the white fade to yellow or vice versa? I think there's normally 3 stripes, but maybe there are only 2 for this part. Is Dave's car's 3rd stripe for something else or are the other 2 cars 3rd stripe just faded or rusted away. Or was there a coding change midyear (I doubt that). Just hard to be sure.

I have not seen a definitive answer, hopefully somebody else has!
