VERY cool Dave. A friend of mine bought a 67 Shelby NEW from Jack Loftus Ford. His was also a green 67 that he has vintage pics of. He does not know what ever became of the car though. I myself owned an original 69 Mach 1 Mustang that I bought from its 30 year owner that was sold new at Jack Loftus as well. I will send the pics to Bruce for him to post as they are cool because one even shows the original dealer decal! Milobrook Ford was also a Chicago area Shelby dealer. As a matter of interest Jack Loftus sold his dealer in 1981 and it became Willowbrook Ford where I worked for a year and a half. [/ QUOTE ]The first Owner was William and Alice Koenig. and I must state that the Pictures of the Car in Beat up condition are from 1987. that is How Bill's Brother in Law got the Car. I got the car in the condition it is shown in the Painted Pretty pics!! I do however have it up on Jack Stands, Cragars are off and Original 10 Spokes are going Back on amongst a list of Winter time activity I have planned before the Spring time unveiling...! the Car is Shelby number #3115. Built on 6/28/67, 33 days behind Schedule!! Got to love these Marti Reports! for those that are unaware of the Head light situation, these cars originally had two Head lights mounted in the center of the grille. California was the first DMV to cry foul folowed by several other States. Shelby moved the Lights on cars going to those states to the Outside edge of the Grille. Thus the term Outboards and the others are called Inboards. also My car and any other Outboard Shelby car has a Thin "Z" stamped before the VIN on the Shelby Tag as well. So where is the Jack Loftus Memorobilia I am certain you have retained?? Milo Brooke, INC./ CHICAGO, University FORD in Champaign and Sexton FORD in Moline were the Other SHELBY/FORD Dealers in Illinois. ![]()

Really nice looking car! What a restoration!
Whats the difference in ride between a Ford BB and a Chevy BB? A guy down the street from me just finished selling off his Shelby collection. He sold two 1967 GT350s, 1967 GT500, 1968 GT500, 1969 GT350 (all coupes) for a 2005 Ford GT and 2005 Z06. I have dated photographs of all cars but we do not talk for personal reasons.

Very nice car, and now when you go to your annual Shelby picnic there won't be anyone smirking at the site of a COPO.
Goodluck

Dave, great to see that you made enough money flipping your #3 condition COPO for the Cobra.
![]() Looks like there was enough left over for you to to put the finishing touches on a sweet looking ride. ![]() Those dual quads will make the COPO look like an economy car when you get your foot into it. ![]() Hard work pays off! ![]()

[/ QUOTE ]The difference with FORD big Blocks usually is that FORD was not big in Performance Rear Gear Ratios. This car in particular has 3.00 One legger from the factory. so they can be sluggish from the start on Stock vehicles. They are full of Torque and have amazing Horsepower Potential. They still have a Huge Aftermarket following which is incredible considering the fact that These engines have not been made by FORD in 36 years! I am contemplating heavily on putting the 428 out of my old COBRA in here as That engine puts out close to 500HP on Pump gas and it's just sitting on a stand in the garage anyway.....! As for your neighbor, I'd be picking his trash if he lived down the street from me! Like him or not!! ![]()
