You guys are right on the mark (as always). My car did come with the Camaro style shift handle and it is clearly stamped on both sides of the handle with the "Hurst" name.

I know it seems like Don used different parts in building our cars but I guess he was just doing what any small businessman does when you have to get something done you use what you have available at the time. So even though our cars all are basically the same, they still have samll individual differences. By the way, I just read the article on Joe Barr and his car. If you are tuned in here Joe, I want to say many kudos to you, your great looking car and the terrific Yenko collection that you have put together. ![]() Alan '70 Deuce |

Alan,The deuces were prepped for the 4177 setup, ie; the hole was punched in the center of the tunnell long b4 the shifter was installed. So, if any came sans 4177, there would be a very, very large hole in the tunnell! We believe that all 4speed deuces came with 4177's. The a/t deuces can be a different story in that it is very possible that one might not have been converted to the floor. There was a story of one a/t deuce that the hurst unit came uninstalled in the trunk. We have learned new info that the particular car may very well have had the shifter installed at Yenko, and maybe the box was tossed in the trunk or something. This particular deuce appears to have been dealer transferred from Peck to Londoff, unusual!
