[ QUOTE ]
"What would be the correct clutch for a 1970 Camaro SS-L78 and would the date be prior to the engine build or the car. The engine in my L78 was built over 6 months before the car."

I would use the Cars overall cowl tag build date as the reference point, not the engine Tona date.
Yours used Fan Clutch Part#3946050,same as the 1969 L-78 Camaro and Fan Blade #3947772.

I gave you misinformation earlier.
You should have Fan Blade #3789562 18" diameter 5 blades 4 bolt circle.
Sorry.

Hey Rick,

Any idea what the correct fan and clutch assembly should be for a '68 L79 Chevy II Nova with A/C, its a mid-June '68 car? Sorry Bud for jumping in on your thread, we were on the subject so I had to ask.

Thanks,
Mike

I'm starting to get the same headache Bud had...Whats the significance of a "W" stamped on the fan blade? I've recently looked a couple of 5 blade fans that were on ebay. Each had a "W" with no visible part numbers. Where are the part numbers stamped on the fan and the clutch? Should they be visible?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike
