Date is (8) 1968 (M) December (28) 28th.

The X's are the proper way for the factory to mark out a mistamp or incorrect stamping. Would assume that whatever is under the 3 X's was suppossed to be "1100".

Do you have a better picture (different angle) there looks like there is another set of very light numbers under the date code as well.

Thanks,This is on a 07C 1968 396 a/c camaro. Looks like the original has been replaced early on.
