Default Re: 1970 Daytona Yellow Z/28 paint

I have a LA built 70 Z28, Citrus Green, and noticed that the underneath has been undercoated. There is no red oxide primer as in the Norwood cars but a dark green primer color of sorts. This same color was painted inside the car sheetmetal as well. What would be the correct color for resto on an LA car? What was their normal practice for painting the undercarriage? Thanks,

Paul

The 2nd Gen L.A. Camaros were primered in a shade of BLACK.
I doubt if anybody could explain why your car has DARK GREEN on it ?????. Could you explain where your underbody is undercoated and/or to what extent. At Camaros at Carlisle 2005 the judges had a involved discussion about 1970 Camaros receiving NO factory undercoating other than the rear wheelhouse area and some of the trunk extension..
I'll try and show pics of my own L.A. 70' Camaro Survivor
