Starting bid of 48K seems rather aggressive. Nice, but the claims of a correct resto are slighty overstated.

------I know this car and its owner. Hes a nice young guy with a beautiful Z. Unfortunatly I feel he was badly taken advantage of by the restoration shop. They were pretty well known (probably internationally) for double billing and just general gouging of the worst sort. I can say this now as every dog has his day and they are no longer in business.
------With that said the resto was at least well done, quality-wise. They may have missed on some of the details but the car is real. The really unfortunate part is that the resto shop sent the original, untouched engine out for a rebuild and, you guessed it, there are no more numbers on the pad. I didnt check the casting date as I had no interest in the car, but I believed him when he told me it was indeed the original motor! ------The starting bid is high, but he probably is doing his best to get as much money back as he can and just really isnt that knowledgeable about E-bay methods. Sad situation. He at least does have a nice car. When I was asked I told him to just take care of it and try to enjoy it. He has only done half of that as he has taken exceptional care of it since the resto. ------I would be happy to revisit the car and check it more throughly for anyone with interest.........Bill S |

Bill, thanks for the update on the car. With no numbers on the deck and apparently no paperwork, it will be hard for him to get anything close to $48,000. It sure is a pretty car. Am I the only one that thinks the LT1 automatic is a super combination? I was garaging one for a friend last week ('70 LT1 auto) and thought it was am amazing car.

My association with this car is car is much more intense than garaging it from last Friday until Tuesday. I just happened to be housing it for a friend recently and had permission to drive it at will last week. Long before being at my house, I've been under and over this car, its numbers, and it's paperwork. Even if I had no prior knowledge of the car, having it in your possession from Friday until Tuesday, you have an opportunity to become familiar with a vehicle. I came close to buying it from him last April, room issues didn't allow this.

Note to self: If leaving Z at Tim's house don't leave the keys.

![]() Too bad I got questioned at the Mexican boarder or I could have pulled off a heist. Actually, the owner was out of town and someone was coming to look at the car and bought it, that's why it was at my house. The potential buyer and I really needed to do some shakedown runs. No offense to the owner, but for two days I had the car, keys and a check from the new owner. I think he may had faith in the wrong guy. My wife kept hiding the keys from me. |

I see a starting bid of $4,800.00 and a buy now of $6,000.00. I can't view the thumbnails as it asks me to email [email protected]. WTF?
