Reggie has a shop locally (since he has a home here on the Monterey Peninsula)and I have seen his white ZL-1.He has some interesting Chevy motors (Hemi-head DZ302)and cool stuff...let me tell you!

John,

Is this hemi-head 302 assembled? Is it a cross-ram intake
as well? I heard about this setup, but I thought only one
of these special intakes actually existed.

He has a complete engine with intake and carbs. He also had a Silver Z28 with a running version of that engine that Gary Holub has now. I also had a running version of that engine in a yellow Z28. I also met a guy at the Reunion that also has a Z28 with that engine. There were a few complete engines and even more heads and intakes made.

Charley,

I had heard that there were heads around, but not intakes.
Also, I was told that this combination did not live up to
its expectations. Didn't Smokey Yunik test these items?

I saw it once in a corner of his hop and thought it was complete.I do not remember there being a cross-ram on it though.
That Silver Z that Gary owns is being featured in a Muscle Car magazine that is on the stands now,it has Vic Edelbrocks Smokey Yunick's '68 and his Bud Moore '70 Boss on the cover.Neat article about the hemi-head Z/28 motor...
