Paul, nice car and colour combo. When you get around to repainting the car, don't use the rear stripes for reference. [/ QUOTE ] Other than maybe the emblem placement, whats wrong with the rear stripes? Just curious for my own knowledge.

The car was repainted once in the early 80's. I don't think the stripes are correct per the assembly manual but I bought this car to be a nice driver and not a show car (not yet anyway).
I think I may slap some nice headers on, dual it out with a Dynomax 2-1/2" exhaust, clean it up and detail it, repaint the wheels, and go have some fun. Paul

Here's a diagram from my web site taken from the assembly manual. http://ca.geocities.com/1970z28@roge.../orange_05.jpg
Whomever the GM Engineer was who drew the diagram wasn't too accurate, but the dimensions are correct. The stripes should not be close to the emblem and the other side should be close to the backup lights. When you measure it out the letter a in Camaro on the decklid should be between on the green in between the wide black and 1/4" black stripe. http://ca.geocities.com/[email protected]_rear_dim.jpg ![]() Just like to see guys stripe the Z28 out there correctly.

oops, it's the bottom part (middle) part of the letter M that will be on your green part of the stripe on the Camaro emblem on the decklid.

Jack,
Yes that is the way they did it. Do not touch that car, someone has to keep a benchmark, might as well be you! Phil ![]() |
